Testing
Quality and code compliance
Piping work is tested before it is concealed or put into service: pressure tests, purging where gas or hazardous media are involved, and documentation of each test. On federal work, piping materials are submitted for approval with manufacturer data and compliance documentation before installation.
At Weldon Spring, abandoned propane lines were purged with nitrogen before being left in place, and each new building regulator was tested and adjusted to its required gas load.
